Ochanomizu Healthy Longevity Clinic
Director: Dr. Takuji Shirasawa

Alzheimer’s disease, which accounts for the majority of dementia cases, has long been considered
“incurable,”
with a prevailing belief that even early detection and treatment could only slow its progression—eventually
leading to a
bedridden state within a few years.
Recently, a study involving 38 research institutions including the University of Tokyo was published in an
American
scientific journal.
It reported that 60% of Japanese individuals diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)—a pre-dementia
stage—progress to full dementia within three years.
This means that even if MCI is identified, more than half of patients may still develop dementia in a short
time span.
Despite ongoing efforts, no fundamental cure for dementia has yet been found.
This reality has contributed to the commonly held view that "once you develop dementia, there is no way to
recover."
However, a groundbreaking treatment approach is now challenging this belief.
The "ReCODE Protocol," developed by Dr. Dale Bredesen, a world-renowned authority on neurodegenerative
diseases,
has generated global attention for claims such as “90% symptom improvement” and “over 500 patients
recovered.”
His best-selling book, *The End of Alzheimer’s*, has also been published in Japanese and has sparked much
interest in Japan.
I served as the supervising editor for the Japanese edition of this book.
The findings and perspectives presented strongly resonate with the results of my own research,
which has focused since 1990 on identifying the reasons behind the dramatic rise in Alzheimer’s and dementia
cases over the past three decades.
Dr. Bredesen’s classification of 36 distinct contributing factors to Alzheimer’s is a major scientific
achievement
that reinforces the validity of various therapeutic programs from a medical standpoint.
At our clinic, we implement a ReCODE-based detoxification protocol along with functional brainwave testing
and other
advanced diagnostic methods.
Through a close collaboration with Dr. Luis Aguilar and his team at the LIVANT Neuro Recovery Center in
Mexico,
we provide supplement-based treatment guided by detailed functional EEG analysis.
We have seen measurable improvements not only in early-onset Alzheimer’s disease, but also in patients
with:
dementia, vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, frontotemporal dementia, Parkinson’s disease,
depression, autism spectrum disorder, schizophrenia, Asperger’s syndrome, ADHD,
post-stroke complications, and post-traumatic brain injury.
Dementia can be treated. It can be prevented. This is no longer a distant hope—it is becoming a reality.
At our clinic, Dr. Takuji Shirasawa—who has dedicated many years to dementia research—provides outpatient
consultations
offering expert diagnostic testing, personalized treatment programs, and guidance for improving daily
lifestyle habits
as early as possible.
We sincerely hope to help enhance the quality of life for each patient and their families.
